The future of theatre depends on young people, they are the theatre makers and theatre goers of tomorrow. Many seek access to the opportunities that are available and the skills that are needed
within the industry.
MGC Futures is a new education programme from the Michael Grandage Company that aims to introduce young people to the many and varied careers that
exist within the theatre.
MGC Futures will reach out to thousands of people across the company’s opening season, providing information, guidance and support through a combination of free performances, online resources, workshops and participatory activities.
The Making of…
Each production in the opening season will have a dedicated page – The Making of… – on the MGC Futures website. This is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in developing a greater understanding of the making of theatre.
The Making of… Live!
There will be one free performance for schools and colleges per production. The Making of… Live! is a unique opportunity for participants to experience a genuine behind-the-scenes look at the plays in performance.
Futures Company
Are you aged between 15 and 25? Are you passionate about theatre or eager to find out more?
MGC Futures is looking to recruit 20 budding young actors, directors, technicians, stage managers, plus other roles, from schools and colleges across London to form the MGC Futures Company, working closely with the Michael Grandage Company over the course of its opening season to devise and perform work in response to the productions.
