Audrey Sheffield

Director | 2019 Bursary

The bursary will allow Audrey to workshop a new one woman play by Alison Carr that explores issues of loneliness, mental health and the breakdown of a relationship.

Since receiving the bursary…

“Since receiving my bursary, I’ve been lucky to collaborate on projects and productions with the Young Vic, Kiln Theatre, Soho Theatre and the English Theatre Frankfurt. Particular highlights for me over the past few years include directing a staged reading of S. Ansky’s seminal Yiddish play The Dybbuk for Six Artists in Search of a Play at the Almeida Theatre; Perspective, a new play by Mackenzie Wellfare for the National Theatre (New Views); and co-directing Jews. In Their Own Words, a theatrical inquiry by Jonathan Freedland for the Royal Court. Also, I’ve recently enjoyed diversifying into the world of Voice Direction for Video Games with SIDE Global, and have worked as director on Tom Clancy’s The Division (Ubisoft), Wuthering Waves (Kuro), Meet Your Maker (Behaviour Interactive), Gwent: The Witcher Card Game (CD Projekt RED) and New World (Amazon Game Studios).”

“I’m thrilled to currently be working as Associate Director on Stranger Things: The First Shadow which has just opened in the West End to huge critical acclaim.”
