Blayne George

Blayne is a Canadian/British theatre artist, educator and administrator who has worked in the theatre and visual arts sectors for twenty-five years. He was Programme Director for the Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust from 2010 – 2020 during which time the charity presented over 250 masterclasses with many of the UK’s leading theatre artists, launched the award winning Bravo 22 Company which used theatre to support the recovery process of wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel through theatre; resulting in the commission of The Two Worlds of Charlie F by Owen Sheers, launched the award winning Cyberscene project which explored cyber bullying and the wider effects the online world is having on young people; resulting in the commission of Cookies by Emily Jenkins, and launched their long running Pitch Your Play Scheme. From 2021 – 2023 he was the Executive Creative Director of The Mono Box, a grass roots talent development organisation that supported emerging and early career theatre makers through accessible and affordable training opportunities.
He is also a part time ceramicist and a member of Turning Earth’s Hoxton studio in east London.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from the University of Regina, Canada. In 2015 he was awarded a spot on Clore Leadership’s dynamic Leadership Intensive and in 2019 he was awarded the University of Regina Theatre Department’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
