Eve Nicol

Director | 2017 Bursary

Eve’s bursary funded a week-long workshop of Parlour, a new production about online punishments for real world crimes.

Since receiving the bursary…

“I have made significant strides in Scottish theatre, directing acclaimed shows and bringing them to international audiences. My directorial work includes critically acclaimed and award-winning productions such as Svengali (Pleasance and Pitlochry Festival Theatre), I Can Go Anywhere (Traverse), The Drift (National Theatre of Scotland), and The Mistress Contract (Tron). In parallel, I have established a reputation as a playwright, writing shows like If You’re Feeling Sinister (BBC Arts and Avalon) and One Life Stand (Middle Child), which have toured across the UK in a variety of venues, including music festivals and nightclubs. Having benefited from programmes that support ambitious young creatives, I am now working with the National Theatre, Traverse and Dewar Arts Awards to support the next generation of theatre makers.”

“I’m currently touring the United States as Associate Director of hit Scottish musical, Islander, until April 2023, and developing large-scale projects at home supported by Creative Scotland, the Royal Lyceum Theatre and Peggy Ramsay Foundation.”
