In 2023, the Michael Grandage Company produced a successful run of his play Backstairs Billy at the Duke of York’s Theatre, starring Penelope Wilton and Luke Evans. Furthermore, his play Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen was produced by Francesca Moody Productions at the Edinburgh Fringe, winning both the 2023 Scotsman Fringe First and The Stage Edinburgh Award, and later transferring to the Bush Theatre to critical acclaim.
