Twan Lentjes
Costume Maker and Embroiderer | 2019 Bursary
Stephanie Arditti Bursary
The Stephanie Arditti Bursary enabled Twan to purchase embroidery software to help him make period theatrical costume a la francaise, ensuring the development of his career as a specialist embroiderer.
Since receiving the bursary…
“After doing some embroidery for Fidelio and Jenůfa at The Royal Opera House, for which I received the bursary, we sadly went into the first lockdown. The first work that started up was film work and I got to work a few weeks on different productions as a costume maker trainee. My proudest moment was working on The Little Mermaid as a costume maker, however I was then asked to also create the embroidery for Ariel’s wedding gown. This was literally my childhood dream come true. Furthermore I have since worked as embroiderer for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story for Netflix”
“For over the last year, I have been working for Universal Studios on the film versions of Wicked (the musical), part 1 and part 2, as a digital embroiderer.”
