MGCfutures at the Olivier Awards 2024 Nominations

The Olivier Awards are back and three of our previous MGCfutures Bursary recipients are amongst the nominees: Video Designer Ash J Woodward, Writer Isley Lynn and Choreographer/Director Mark Smith.

Our bursary in 2017 allowed Ash to buy software and equipment, becoming more self-sufficient in his video design practice. He has now been nominated for the Blue-i Theatre Technology Award for Best Video Design at the Olivier Awards 2024 for his work in Dear England at the National Theatre.

Isley’s play Revolutions was developed with the help of our bursary in 2016. After winning the Evening Standard Charles Wintour Award for Most Promising Playwright 2023 for their play The Swell at the Orange Tree Theatre, the production has now been nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre at the Olivier Awards 2024.

We supported Mark in 2022 to transition his career from choreographer to director. His choreography work in The Little Big Things at @sohoplace has been nominated for the Gillian Lynne Award for Best Theatre Choreographer at the Olivier Awards 2024.
